The Penn Mutual Life Insurance Co. of Horsham, Pa., has named David M. O’Malley, 38, chief operating officer.

He is responsible for the company’s operating areas, including product development and management, producer and client services, financial management and Hornor Townsend & Kent Inc., the company’s broker-dealer subsidiary.

Previously, Mr. O’Malley was executive vice president and chief financial officer.

Genworth Financial Inc. of Richmond, Va., has named Martin Klein, 53, executive vice president.

He is responsible for operations for Genworth’s international protection and wealth management businesses, and the firm’s corporate-development activities.

Mr. Klein will continue in his role as chief financial officer of Genworth.

Echo Point Investment Management LLC of West Conshohocken, Pa., has hired John Larson, 46, as executive director of marketing and client services.

He is responsible for expanding the company’s relationships with consultants and plan sponsors, as well as directing marketing and client services efforts.

Previously, Mr. Larson was vice president of institutional at Cole Capital Advisors Inc. of Phoenix.

TD Bank NA of Cherry Hill, N.J., has named Jesus “Ernie” Diaz, 47, as regional president for Florida branches.

He will lead the company’s Florida retail, small-business, commercial and specialty-banking operations in more than 170 stores.

Previously, Mr. Diaz was TD Bank’s South Florida market president.

American Century Investment Services Inc. of Kansas City, Mo., has hired Joseph G. Schultz, 40, as senior vice president and head of intermediary sales.

Based in New York, he will lead the company’s domestic intermediary sales group and is responsible for field and internal sales businesses. Mr. Schultz will also be a member of the company’s product and markets-and-distribution operating committees.

Previously, Mr. Schultz was managing director and head of U.S. broker-dealer sales and relationship management at The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. of New York.

Convergent Wealth Advisors LLC of Rockville, Md., has hired John Mastal, 41, as managing director in charge of the Catapult by Convergent initiative.

He is responsible for finding, qualifying and mentoring financial advisers hoping to join the firm.

Previously, Mr. Mastal was managing director at Fortigent LLC, also of Rockville.

Putnam Investments LLC of Boston has hired Kristin Pelling, 41, as director of defined-contribution consultant relations.

She will oversee support of na-tional and regional consulting firms.

Previously, Ms. Pelling was a principal and director of consultant relations at Mercer LLC of New York.

The American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries Inc. of Arlington, Va., has hired Ronald J. Triche, 43, as assistant general counsel and director of government affairs.

He will manage the ASPPA Government Affairs Committee, drafting summaries of agency guidance and presenting the company’s position to different agencies. Mr. Triche will also serve as in-house assistant general counsel.

Previously, he was a retirement plan benefits attorney at Trucker Huss APC in San Francisco.

Curian Capital LLC of Denver has hired Gabriel Burstein, 51, as head of the investment strategy group.

The group focuses on alternative investments, asset allocation, market strategy and manager research.

Mr. Burstein will monitor expansion of the group’s portfolio and product construction capability.

Previously, he was global head of investment, hedge fund and mutual fund research at Lipper Inc. of New York.
