DeWaay Financial Network LLC of Clive, Iowa, has hired Matthew Stahr, 40, as president of DeWaay Financial Network and DeWaay Advisory.

He is responsible for oversight of all operations and distribution activities for DeWaay Financial Network and DeWaay Advisory, as well as forging relationships with key business partners.

Previously, Mr. Stahr was vice president and chief marketing officer in West Des Moines, Iowa, for Sammons Financial Group of Chicago.

International Asset Management Ltd. of London has hired Jon Pollowitz, 29, as an investment analyst and Stephen Bienashski, 24, as a junior investment analyst.

Both are based in New York.

Previously, Mr. Pollowitz was a senior research analyst with Cadogan Management LLC of New York.

Mr. Bienashski was a special-assets commercial-credit underwriter in Nashville, Tenn., with Regions Financial Corp. of Birmingham, Ala.

New York Life Insurance Co. has hired John Fleurant, 48, as senior vice president of finance and controller.

He will oversee the controller’s, tax and treasury departments. In addition, Mr. Fleurant is responsible for financial planning, accounting policy and ratings agency relationships.

Previously, he served as a controller at Prudential Financial Inc. of Newark, N.J., where he was responsible for companywide financial reporting and planning, as well as compliance.

Kovack Securities Inc. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has hired Pete Pecci, 40, as national sales director.

He will oversee the firm’s business development, practice management, and sponsor and vendor relations.

Previously, Mr. Pecci was the chief operating officer in Fort Lauderdale at Investacorp Inc. of Miami.

National Life Group of Montpelier, Vt., has hired Mary M. Lee, 47, as vice president and chief people officer based effective Jan. 1.

She will head the department that oversees all people-related issues, including recruiting, organizational development and training, and total rewards for the company’s roughly 900 employees.

Previously, Ms. Lee was a principal in Burlington, Vt., at Hallerlee Human Resources Consulting, LLC of Underhill, Vt.
