Putnam installs new equity-trading chief
Putnam Investments announced yesterday that Daniel Farrell has joined the firm as head of equity trading.

He replaces Richard Block, who has left the firm.
Since 2003, Mr. Farrell served as vice president of equity trading at RiverSource Investments LLC of Minneapolis.
Prior to that, he was vice president of equity trading at MFS Investment Management of Boston.
Putnam, also of Boston, had $116 billion in assets under management as of Oct. 31.
