Shakeup at Putnam Research Fund

Kelly Morgan is no longer the portfolio leader of the Putnam Research Fund management team.

Kelly Morgan is no longer the portfolio leader of the Putnam Research Fund management team.
The move was made as of November 30, when Putnam announced the departure of Joshua Brooks, chief investment officer for large cap equities, said company spokesperson Nancy Fisher.
Mr. Brooks also served as the co-portfolio leader of the Research Fund.
There are no plans for the position held by Ms. Morgan on the Research Fund.
“There has been no discussion of how that would be changed or added to,” Ms. Fisher said.
Ms. Morgan remains the co-portfolio leader on two other funds she has been working on including the Putnam Voyager Fund, with $6.3 billion in assets, and Putnam Growth Opportunities Fund, with $549 million in assets.
“It gives her a chance to concentrate more on the other two funds,” Ms. Fisher said.
The Putnam Research Fund, with $638 million in assets, trailed the Standard & Poor 500 index by 4.4 percentage points as of November 30.
Charles Dane and Walter Scully remain co-portfolio members of the fund.
Putnam is expected to fill the position vacated by Mr. Brooks.
As of November 30, Putnam had $185 billion in assets under management.
