Raymond James adds teams from Morgan Stanley, UBS

The firm welcomes a $350 million duo in New England, and an advisor in Florida who had managed a $235 million book.

Raymond James is fortifying its leadership in the wealth space as it announces new advisors joining its network from Morgan Stanley and UBS.

The firm announced that it recently added financial advisors Eric G. Werner and Vincent “Randy” Whatley to its employee advisor channel, Raymond James Advisors.

The seasoned duo, who are joining RJA from Morgan Stanley, bring with them a portfolio of approximately $350 million in client assets.

Along with senior registered client associate Alyssa Kerins, Werner and Whatley will be operating in RJA’s new Hanover, New Hampshire office, as Northeast Legacy Group, marking an extension of the firm’s footprint in New England.

Aside from offering wealth management and investment advice to families, businesses, institutions and municipalities, the new office will have an eye on providing family office services and managing endowments at nonprofits, as well as management and strategic consulting for nonprofit organizations.

“We are excited to align with Raymond James, a company with a deep focus on wealth management,” said Werner, a nearly 30-year veteran of the industry whose resume includes time spent at Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch and Citigroup Smith Barney.

Whatley brings fresh meaning to the phrase “veteran advisor.” Aside from having more than two decades of financial planning and investment service experience, he served in the U.S. Army.

“Eric and Randy’s arrival and stewardship in establishing RJA’s new Hanover office epitomize the firm’s unwavering commitment to providing personalized financial solutions to clients in the Northeast,” Kelly Anderson, Northeast regional director for RJA, said in a statement.

Raymond James also recently welcomed a Florida-based financial advisor, James “Buck” Williams, to its independent advisor channel, Raymond James Financial Services.

A founding partner of Coastal Oak Wealth Advisors, Williams managed over $235 million in assets at UBS Private Wealth Management, where he helped clients with generational wealth management, investment strategy, risk management, and legacy planning.

Williams is joined by Robert Mistretta, another UBS alum, to provide wealth management analysis, financial planning, and client support at Coastal Oak Wealth Advisors.
