* AXA Financial Inc. in New York has promoted Stacy Braun, 38, and Gregory Winsper, 38, to senior…

* AXA Financial Inc. in New York has promoted Stacy Braun, 38, and Gregory Winsper, 38, to senior vice presidents, from vice presidents.

Ms. Braun will be responsible for marketing proprietary products and services, and developing AXA Financial’s platform for marketing to women. In 2001, Ms. Braun was promoted to vice president and co-manager of the marketing department.

Mr. Winsper will be responsible for relationship marketing, brand management, lead-generation programs and local market development. In 2001, he was promoted to vice president and co-manager of AXA Financial’s integrated marketing and communications group.

* Financial Services Management Group LLC, an investment banking boutique in Weehawken, N.J., has hired Tom Sinyard, 65, as a mergers-and-acquisitions specialist in the Southwest. Mr. Sinyard, a certified financial planner, was a Phoenix-based recruiter for the AIG Advisor Group Inc.

* State Street Research and Management Co. in Boston has named Ajay Mehra, 38, head of equity research.

Mr. Mehra will lead research efforts to distinguish State Street Research’s portfolios from its money management firms. He will also be the lead portfolio manager for the State Street Research Health Sciences Fund. He has had more than eight years’ experience in the financial services industry. Most recently, he was senior vice president and portfolio manager for Boston-based Columbia Management Group, the investment subsidiary of FleetBoston Financial Corp. Before that, he was an equity research analyst with Morgan Stanley in New York.

* Glass Lewis & Co. LLC, a San Francisco-based research and proxy-advisory firm, has named Joel Stewart, 46, national sales director. Mr. Stewart will oversee sales efforts of the firm’s flagship product, Proxy Paper, to institutional investors and other fiduciaries. Mr. Stewart moves to Glass Lewis from S3 Asset Management of New York, where he served as a principal for its West Coast sales operation.

Additionally, Glass Lewis has named Lynn Turner, 53, director of research. Mr. Turner was chief accountant at the Securities and Exchange Commission, and professor of accounting at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.

* Hyman Beck & Co. Inc., an international investment manager in Florham Park, N.J., has named James F. Lubin, 46, a principal in the firm. Mr. Lubin will take responsibility for product development, strategic planning, investment strategy and business development. Since 1999, Mr. Lubin had been a senior vice president within the fixed-income division of Lehman Brothers Inc. in New York.

Before that, Mr. Lubin held various positions with New York-based Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc., which he joined in 1980.

* PDP Capital LLC in West Palm Beach, Fla., has named Olin Filyaw, 41, a managing director. He held the same title with Cameron Capital Management LLC in Princeton, N.J., where he was head trader and portfolio manager. Prior to his tenure at Cameron, he was employed as a senior trader with SAC Capital Advisors LLC in Stamford, Conn., and as a proprietary block trader with Goldman Sachs Group Inc. in New York.

PDP has also hired Mary Beth Slack, 44, as a trader and Allison Smith, 31, as vice president, client services.

Ms. Slack, 44, was senior vice president of analytics for GFI Group Inc. in New York. Ms. Smith was a San Francisco-based account manager for hedge fund clients with Morgan Stanley of New York.

* Banc of America Capital Management LLC in New York has appointed Robert Silvani, 52, regional consultant for South Florida.

Based in North Palm Beach, Mr. Silvani will focus on distributing the company’s Nations Funds mutual funds as well as those of Marsico Capital Management LLC of Denver. He also will be responsible for distributing separately managed accounts, the 529 Future Scholar College Savings program and alternative investments.

Mr. Silvani was Banc of America Capital Management’s Eastern regional director.

* Ibbotson Associates of Chicago, a provider of investment and asset allocation tools, has appointed Peng Chen, 33, managing director and Jerry Korabik, 34, and Daryl Lucas, 39, vice presidents.

Mr. Chen, a chartered financial analyst, heads Ibbotson’s research department. He joined Ibbotson in 1997.

Mr. Korabik, a certified financial planner, has managed the educational-training department since joining Ibbotson in early 2000. In the coming year, he will also manage web-based-training efforts.

Mr. Korabik worked as a senior consultant in the financial planning solutions group of New York-based PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP prior to joining Ibbotson.

Mr. Lucas manages software development for products.

He joined Ibbotson in 1998 as a connectivity specialist and was promoted to software engineer in 2000.

* Standard & Poor’s in New York has named Marie Driscoll, 49, equity analyst in retail apparel and footwear.

Ms. Driscoll was recently recognized for her retail-sector-stock-selection performance in The Wall Street Journal’s “Best on the Street” 2003 Analysts Survey.

Prior to joining S&P, she was a senior equity analyst with Argus Research Co. of New York.

* GreatBanc Trust Co. in Oak Brook, Ill., and its affiliate Pennant Management Inc. of Milwaukee have appointed Lawrence Olewinski, 48, senior vice president of sales.

Mr. Olewinski will be responsible for sales in trust and investment management to high- end individual investors and institutional accounts.

Mr. Olewinski worked in institutional sales at ABN AMRO North America Inc. in Chicago. He has experience with New York Life Benefit Services as well.
