Finra bars Merrill rep discharged for misappropriating client funds

Linan Abrego decided not cooperate with regulators investigating case.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Inc. has barred former Merrill Lynch broker Linan Abrego for her failure to cooperate with an investigation into charges that she misappropriated client funds.

Ms. Abrego, who was discharged by Merrill Lynch in June over allegations that she misappropriated client funds, refused to appear for on-the-record testimony into the allegations. She had been with Merrill Lynch in McAllen, Tex., for two years.
