Kitces: 11 blogs for all financial advisers to follow

While there are many lists of blogs out there, financial planning's own social media “power tweeter” Michael Kitces, partner and director of research for Pinnacle Advisory Group and publisher of The Kitces Report and his own blog, Nerd's Eye View, maintains a list of blogs specifically relevant for financial advisors.

The list:

The Reformed Broker – Written by financial advisor and investment pundit Josh Brown, The Reformed Broker provides an interesting mix of investment commentary on current news and events with Josh’s sharp wit.

Abnormal Returns – Founded by private investor Tadas Viskanta, the Abnormal Returns blog provides a steady stream of links to some of the best investment content out there, in addition to some great original content hosted on the blog itself. As long as you visit Abnormal Returns regularly, you never need to worry about missing the best of the investment blogosphere.
IN Tech – Investment News technology columnist Davis Janowski writes regularly for the IN Tech blog, often providing a first look at new technology developments and opportunities for financial advisors.

FPPad – Technology guru Bill Winterberg hosts the FPPad blog, sharing both news and developments on technology trends for financial advisors, and a growing series of video interviews with key vendors that serve the financial advisor community.

FPA Practice Management Center – Hosting some of the best consultants in practice management for financial advisors, the FPA Practice Management Center blog provides a steady stream of blog content on all issues practice management.

The Client Driven Practice – Authored by practice management consultant Steve Wershing, The Client Driven Practice provides insights into the world of marketing for financial advisors, especially regarding how to generate more referrals from your clients and affiliated professionals.

Gary Klaben – The eponymous blog of Gary Klaben shares weekly insights about Gary’s vision of the future of financial advice, as it transitions from its second stage (AUM; the first stage was commission) to its third stage, comprehensive wealth advisory services. Not everyone may agree with Gary’s views, but he provides some interesting food for thought.

Retirement Researcher Blog – Hosted by retirement planning academic Wade Pfau, the Retirement Researcher blog shares a steady stream of insights about the latest in retirement planning research, both in terms of Wade’s own analysis, and his commentary on the best of what’s appearing in a wide range of publications.
