Advisers sound off on CFP dues hike
“The fact is that the CFP mark is not the "gold standard' of financial planning designations. In my opinion, it is the first step and should be seen as a beginning, not an end. Getting people to identify the CFP mark as a minimum standard for a financial planner should be the goal, but all CFPs who truly hold to a fiduciary standard should continue on the education path, obtaining a [chartered life underwriter mark] so they have a professional standing in life and health insurance, and a [chartered financial consultant mark] if they work with business owners.”
