10 financial literacy programs created by advisers
Local pro bono work
I promote financial literacy via my pro bono work at a local hospital. I volunteer 1 day per quarter at Self Regional Healthcare. I meet with employees in 30-minute increments to discuss any financial topic on their mind. The SRH human resources department sends an email to all 2,400 employees notifying them to contact HR to reserve a time. I always have 14 time slots booked. The topics range from budget planning, student loan repayment, should I save more in my retirement plan, when can I retire, just to name a few. I am also on the board of directors for the South Carolina Financial Planning Association and chair the Community Outreach sub-committee. We are always looking for pro bono opportunities.
