InvestmentNews announced Wednesday that it is expanding its retirement plan adviser coverage by recruiting a nationally recognized expert of that growing market to help guide its efforts.

Fred Barstein, who was the driving force behind the launch of NAPA Net in 2012 as the founding editor-in-chief and NAPA Net the Magazine in 2013, serves as a contributing editor at InvestmentNews. In that role, he works alongside InvestmentNews editor Frederick P. Gabriel Jr. and reporter Greg Iacurci in developing editorial content and initiatives aimed at retirement plan advisers.

Additionally, InvestmentNews will debut a quarterly supplement aimed at retirement plan advisers. That supplement, the first of which will appear in the March 20 issue of InvestmentNews, will feature insightful stories on the issues and trends that affect plan advisers, as well as commentary from industry thought leaders.

InvestmentNews is leveraging its reputation for editorial integrity and leadership to better serve our core audience of financial advisers who serve retirement plan sponsors and participants,” Mr. Gabriel said. “Fred Barstein brings a level of expertise, knowledge and passion for this industry that will make InvestmentNews a must-read for retirement plan advisers.”

“The role and business of retirement plan advisers are changing dramatically,” noted Mr. Barstein. “I’m excited to work with InvestmentNews, the premier source of intellectual capital for financial advisers, to expand their coverage and help advisers understand and leverage these changes.”

In addition to editorial content, InvestmentNews will produce events and research aimed at helping plan advisers better serve existing clients and attract new ones.
