Who says continuing financial education has to be dull?
Chartis Inc., American International Group Inc.’s property/casualty unit, is offering several zippy CE courses, including “Beauty and Bling: Preserving the Value of Jewelry Collections” and “Private Aviation.”
The insurer, which educates in-house insurance agents and brokers at its Private Client Group University, is offering the program’s high-end property/casualty training to outside financial planners, attorneys and accountants.
“Insurance is a frequently overlooked component of one’s wealth management plans,” said Ron Laconi, president of the private-client group. “Opening the doors of our continuing-education classes to a wider set of advisers allows us to share our expertise in a more effective way.”
The 20 courses in the curriculum include several aimed at advisers serving extremely affluent clients, such as “Risk Management for High-Profile Clients,” which teaches how to protect celebrity clients from liability lawsuits and other risks.
