Well-known value investor Christopher H. Browne has stepped down from his day-to-day activities as a member of the management and investment committees and as a managing director at Tweedy Browne Co. LLC of New York.
Well-known value investor Christopher H. Browne has stepped down from his day-to-day activities as a member of the management and investment committees and as a managing director at Tweedy Browne Co. LLC of New York.
“This has been a difficult decision for me, but in the past two years I have had to deal with some personal health issues, and there are other things I want to accomplish with the rest of my life,” Mr. Browne, 64, said in a statement released today.
Mr. Browne will retain his equity interest in the firm and serve the firm as a senior adviser.
A replacement will not be named.
Mr. Browne joined Tweedy Browne in 1969 after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania. He became a partner in 1974.
