David Katz, who managed $100 million in assets at Ameriprise Financial Services, has joined the employee channel of Raymond James in Boca Raton, Fla.

Mr. Katz, who is joining the firm with his client service associate, began his financial services career in 1994 with Metropolitan Life, and then had stints at firms associated with Penn Mutual and Jolene Associates before joining ING Financial Advisors in 2002.

In 2010, he opened a Boca Raton branch for Gitterman & Associates Wealth Management, an RIA firm he helped co-found and manage. He joined Ameriprise in 2014.

Raymond James Financial’s net addition of 200 advisers, in its fiscal year ended Sept. 30, brought it to a record 7,346, and helped the firm post record revenue and net income for its fourth quarter.

Eighty-eight advisers joined Ameriprise Financial Inc. from other firms in the third quarter, in addition to 215 who joined the firm as part of the acquisition of Investment Professionals Inc., Ameriprise said last week in announcing its third-quarter results.
