Finra will propose a rule change that could help brokers in class action employment claims. Specifically, it wants to ban from its arbitration forums “collective action” claims brought under the Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938 or the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967. Therefore, these claims could be pursued in court. The self-regulatory organization’s board has authorized its staff to file a proposed rule change with the SEC. For full story click here.
