AssetBook rolls out mobile portfolio management application

Gives advisers on-the-go access to portfolios and data via smart phones and tablets.

AssetBook LLC announced Friday the release of AssetBook Mobile: a native application for devices running both iOS and the Android operating system.
It is available now for users of AssetBook Radar (the firm’s cloud-based portfolio management system) in the Apple Inc. App Store and on Google Play.
Radar has a growing number of advisory firms using it — 200 currently. Much of that adoption is due to its flexibility, and it certainly does not hurt that it is online.
Readers new to AssetBook should keep in mind that you would not be able to use the mobile app in isolation — you need to already have an installation of Radar up and running. But for those users who do, it adds an entire new level of portability to their practice.
The application provides a comprehensive subset of much of what you can do on your laptop or desktop workstation. AssetBook Mobile, which is available for both phones and tablets, gives AssetBook Radar users pretty robust control over their clients’ investment information on their mobile devices.
“Our clients’ feedback on the app has been extremely positive,” says AssetBook chief executive Rob Major. “Advisers no longer need to make phone calls or boot up their laptops in order to get to the information they need to service clients on the go.”

During a meeting last Thursday, he also explained that the application has proven quite effective with advisers who have been using it in its pre-release period for off-site client meetings and presentations using tablets.
With it, advisers can get access to high-level information about their firm such as AUM and top holdings, as well as more granular views for households and individual accounts. That includes positions, balances, transactions and performance information, which can be easily viewed graphically and in tables.

And since the app uses the adviser’s own live AssetBook database, values are up to date.
