Hybrid advisers managing $375 million join LPL from Triad

The four-person Horizons Financial Group is based in Birmingham, Ala.

Horizons Financial Group, a hybrid advisory firm managing $375 million in assets in Birmingham, Ala., has switched its broker-dealer and corporate registered investment adviser platforms from Triad Advisors to LPL Financial.

The firm was founded in 2006 by James Nix Jr. and Michael Mashburn Sr. The team includes James Carter and operations officer Andrew Dean.

The senior members of the firm’s leadership team have known each other since 1986, when they all worked in the investment division of Central Bank of the South.
