Governmental Accounting Standards Board in Norwalk, Conn., has named Richard C. Tracy, 52, to replace Barbara Henderson, who is retiring. Mr. Tracy is director of audits for the city of Portland, Ore.

Board of Trade Clearing Corp. in Chicago has named Brett F. Paulson, 43, vice president and chief information officer. Most recently he was promoted from director to vice president of business application development.

Alps Mutual Fund Services Inc. in Memphis, Tenn., has appointed Mary Frances Fox, 47, and David Rydzeski, 38, regional vice presidents. Chad Harwood, 28, has been hired as a sales representative. Malcolm Lipscomb, 52, has been named vice president and Southeastern sales manager.

Ms. Fox had been an investment broker with Morgan Keegan & Co. in Knoxville. Mr. Rydzeski served as regional sales manager at ON Equity Sales in Cincinnati, and will be based in Washington. Mr. Harwood was director of marketing with Life Care Centers of America in Denver.

Grubb & Ellis Co. in Cincinnati has appointed Michael H. Ward, 38, managing director of the new transaction services group. Mr. Ward joined the company in January as vice president of the Cincinnati office.

State Street Research and Management Co. in Boston has named Bruce A. Ebel senior vice president and member of the large-cap growth team. Mr. Ebel, 42, a certified financial analyst and certified investment counselor, had a similar job in Chicago with Loomis Sayles & Co. LP.

American General Financial Group in Houston has named Carl J. Santillo, 49, executive vice president for operations in the retirement services division, Kent E. Barrett, 42, executive vice president and chief financial officer of the retirement services division, and Craig R. Rodby, 49, executive vice president and chief financial officer of American General Life and Accident Insurance Co. Most recently, Mr. Santillo served as senior vice president. Mr. Barrett was executive vice president and chief financial officer of American General Life and Accident Insurance Co. Mr. Rodby served as vice chairman and chief financial officer of the retirement services division.

Zurich Kemper Life in Long Grove, Ill., has promoted Russ Bostick, 42, to senior vice president and member of the senior management team. Mr. Bostick joined the company in April and most recently served as chief information officer. In addition, Ed Robbins, 59, has been named senior vice president and chief actuary. He was a partner with KPMG Peat Marwick in Chicago.

Scudder Kemper Investments in Boston has named Michael Volo, 31, vice president of consultant relations for Scudder Kemper Retirement Services. Mr. Volo was senior vice president of sales for KeyCorp in Cleveland.

American United Life Insurance Co. in Indianapolis has named Bob Scott, 54, vice president of sales and marketing for its Equity Sales Corp. unit. He had been a brokerage manager at Provident Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Berwyn, Pa.

Investment Research Co. in San Diego has named Howard Roth, 51, senior vice president and director of financial economics. Mr. Roth was vice president and director of regional economics for the Bank of America in San Francisco. In addition, Peter Chen, 24, has been hired as a research associate. He had worked as a quantitative analyst at Nicholas-Applegate Capital Management in San Diego.

Dain Rauscher Inc. in Minneapolis has hired Todd R. Nelson, 31, as an equity research analyst in its Wessels division. He held a similar post at Josephtal & Co. in New York.
