Institute for Portfolio Alternatives promotes Anya Coverman to top job

The trade group's new president and CEO previously served as its general counsel.

The board of the Institute for Portfolio Alternatives, a Washington-based alternative investment trade group, has appointed Anya Coverman as its president and chief executive.

Since 2017, Coverman has served as the group’s senior vice president of government affairs and general counsel, leading its legislative, regulatory and legal initiatives, including the creation of its political action committee.

Prior to joining the IPA, she was the deputy director of policy and associate general counsel at the North American Securities Administrators Association. Coverman has also practiced corporate and securities law at Greenberg Traurig in Washington.
