LPL adds $210 million team from Wells Fargo

lpl wells Justin Katz, Heather Cheney and Jeffrey Katz

The father-son duo of Jeffrey and Justin Katz are joining LPL’s employee channel and will operate as Katz Wealth Advisors of LPL Financial.

LPL Financial said Monday that a father-and-son pair of advisors who managed $210 million at Wells Fargo Advisors have joined its employee channel, Linsco by LPL.

Jeffrey and Justin Katz will operate as Katz Wealth Advisors of LPL Financial. They are joined in the move by staffer Heather Cheney. The members of the team operate remotely from Napa, California, Incline Village, Nevada, and Portland, Oregon.

Jeffrey Katz has 39 years of experience, according to his BrokerCheck record, and had been affiliated with Wells Fargo since 2015. Justin Katz started his career in the tech industry before switching to wealth management; he joined Wells Fargo in 2018, according to BrokerCheck.

“Linsco is a way for us to tiptoe into independence, giving us the best of both worlds — the support and resources attached to a major firm with the ability to call our own shots and provide the boutique flavor of a standalone practice,” Justin Katz said in a statement. “This move was made with clients in mind as we build out a firm that’s based on their wants and needs.”

The Katz team turned to Linsco by LPL for its innovative technology and enhanced service experiences, as well as the freedom to operate with more autonomy.
